Rihanna has surpassed Lady Gaga and become the most popular woman on Facebook. Long hailed as the queen of social media, Lady Gaga was the first living artist to reach 10,000,000 Facebook fans, more than even President Obama, who has about 700,000 less fans than Lady Gaga. However, the equally lively account of Rihanna, which is updated by ghost writers, has lately grown faster than Gaga’s. As of now, Rihanna has 40,564,950 Facebook fans, which is over 20,000 more than Lady Gaga’s Facebook fans.
Lady Gaga does still have the comfort of being the most popular user on Twitter according to Twitaholic. She has more than 11.6 million followers. Justin Bieber is the second most popular Twitter user with 11 million followers. On Twitter, Rihanna is the 13th most popular user with 6.1 million followers.
Other popular users on Twitter include Oprah and President Obama.
It will be interesting to see how this Lady Gaga/Rihanna “race” plays out on Facebook, though. Who do you like better?
