Playing games is a great way for friends and family to spend time together, have fun together, and connect. This is also true of social media as games are definitely a popular feature on Facebook. Recently, Google Plus added games to the new social network with the goal to “bring the nuance and richness of real-life sharing to the web,” according to Vic Gundotra, Senior Vice President of Engineering. Google’s goal is to bring great experiences like playing games to the new social network so that the relationships that are currently built on Google Plus can be expanded upon through game playing.
Unlike Facebook, though, games are only visible in Google Plus to the people who want to play them. This is quite an improvement as I am constantly seeing games on my Facebook news feed that I don’t really care about. There are a great set of initial games that have been added to Google Plus, though, like Angry Birds, Diamond Dash, Zombie Lane, Sudoku, and Dragons of Atlantis: a little something for everyone no matter what kinds of games you like to play.
Right now, they are looking for user feedback on the games. Google is usually pretty attentive to user feedback so give the games a shot and tell them what you think!
